A princess of Aeolia writes:
It all started with our gathering in the dining hall. Father was late as usual, and as he finally arrived, he had a strange man with him. As they came closer to the table where my five sisters and six brothers were sitting, he introduced us to this strange but very handsome man. He told us that he was the great Odysseus, the hero of Troy, which made him even better. Father decided to have him join us for dinner. As Father was sharing our family history with the kind, good-looking stranger, I could tell that he thought we were very weird because the people of our city never go anywhere. We stay in our walls. My father had no choice but to match and marry his children to each other. I am one of the eldest, along with my brother, Don. We got married a few years ago. It was only right that the two best-looking were together. I am pregnant with our first baby.
As days passed and Odysseus and his men stayed in our peaceful city, things got a little bit weird. Every time I would be out taking my morning walk, Odysseus would give me the eye. Occasionally he would talk to me. I know I’m good-looking, but I am happily married to Don, and no matter how hot Odysseus is, it’s just not going to work.
One day when I decided to talk to him and tell him that his actions were not acceptable, he up and decided that he was going to lay one on me. At that time, Don came walking up, and he flew to Odysseus and tackled him. Right there the fight broke out. I am worth fighting for, but that’s no reason to fight. Odysseus shouldn’t have kissed me. They stopped fighting, and Odysseus decided that he better leave, so they packed up the next day and left.
We all lived happily after.
