From the diary of Telemachus:
We just heard news about the end to the Trojan War. The Greeks took victory over the dishonorable Trojans. My father must be a very wise man. He created the idea for the Trojan horse. Mother misses him terribly. Male guest show up every week and stay to eat our food and rest, they tell me. They eat our food and drink my father’s wine. Then they just stay, and more are on their way, I’m told by my Grams.
My Grams also says that when I am old enough to grow hair on my face, my mother must choose a new suitor. I don’t believe she would; she loves my Father. I am starting to see a difference in my mother; she is starting to become worried. When my Grams tells me about my father, I keep wondering if he is so great why he hasn’t returned yet. I just would like to know him.
I am ten years old. Ten years that my father’s been gone. Ten years of despair for my Mother and her loneliness. I am just wondering where is he? The thoughts that he might be dead are coming.
